Acne Treatment
Acne is a common problem in adolescents and younger adults. Most of us will get acne at some point in our lives. Acne results from increased adhesion of keratin in the hair follicle with keratinous material becoming denser and blocking secretion of sebum (natural oil produced by the skin). Our treatment reduces the blood supply to the sebaceous gland, slowing down production of sebum.
Acne is categorized into two main groups:
•Non-inflammatory acne, also known as comedones, includes blackheads and whiteheads.
•Inflammatory acne, which includes papules, pustules, nodules and cysts, results from the body's fight to contain an infection.
